Ipsita Misra, the face behind this blog, I'm an Architect by profession, with an everlasting love for Sarees. This is a humble effort to document my endless tales revolving around the beautiful drapes that I possess. It's just very unfair that they do not get their due attention after having travelled all the way up to me. My attempt while draping these beauties is to keep my accessories minimum so that the saree stands out to be clearly the celebrity while there is less clutter to compete with. Honest confession here, although I am quiet adventurous about collecting jewelry, not a very enthusiast when it comes to actually adorning them on myself, hence it suits me perfect to highlight the saree and keep the jewelry minimalistic. I strongly believe, the Saree reflects a personal statement by itself that is effortlessly elegant.

While I live in Dubai, UAE, I originally belong to Orissa which is popular for not one but many kinds of handwoven sarees. There is Bomkhai to Khandua, Sonepuri to Kottapad, Berhampuri to Nuapatna, the list is endless. I sincerely hope to be able to do justice to each of them separately. My dream is to own a saree from each state that is most peculiar to it, the problem however is that each state flaunts not one but many droolworthy varieties to die for. Anyway, I have ventured out, hopefully shall reach my destination some day with no regrets on my investments in this kaleidoscope of handwoven rich heritage!
