Saree, for me is a beautiful 6 yard poetry of an unstitched fabric, which drapes  seamlessly to bring out the true essence of grace, elegance & sensuality of Indian women. From time immemorial, it is the oldest form of existing garment. We all know about Draupadi’s vastraharan from Mahabharata - where her six yard, when pulled & pulled, piled up to an infinite heap of fabric, while not giving away the dignity of this woman who had so much faith on her Lord Krishna. We have evidence of its existence since then, which not only still exists but it actually rocks!!

There are various ways of draping a saree, more than 80 known variations that prevails across the subcontinent. There are varied weaves of a saree too. My personal all time favorite are the Handloom silks & I take pride in promoting Handloom Sarees! Its truly mystical to see how our weavers, the unsung heroes, come out with such exquisite designs, with so much precision and extraordinarily haute, rich, gorgeous Sarees. This, one size fits all garment has also the added advantage of being passed on as an heirloom for generations without losing its charm a tad bit. Each one of them have their own story. It is the tradition, culture, heritage & Pride of ones possession.

My Saree Tales, tells tales weaved around each drape, its uniqueness, and why it is so close to my heart. These are a compilation of different tales around my everyday life over the past years till present days, with the clock still ticking strong. Another noble intention of putting this together is to encourage the younger generation to embrace this garment & take pride in draping this piece of elegance around them, feel comfortable & totally at ease. Hopefully I am able to inspire and motivate at least a couple of them, if not more - my daughters!
